Flowing rapids and calm lake expanses
The major rivers in the area are Siikajoki and its tributaries, along with Lamujoki. Uljua Reservoir, built to regulate flooding in Siikajoki, is probably the most famous of the municipal reservoirs; the other one is Kortteinen reservoir. Siikalatva’s largest natural lakes include Kivijärvi, Viitastenjärvi, Kurranjärvi, and Mankilanjärvi.
