Applying for early childhood education

Applications for early childhood education places can be submitted year-round.

A childcare place should be requested at least four months before the child needs it, if the need is known in advance. If the need arises suddenly due to employment or studies, a place will be arranged within two weeks.

An early childhood education placement is granted to the child until the start of preschool education. The agreement regarding the use of the placement may be adjusted during the operational year, if the need for care permanently increases or decreases. Applications for preschool education are submitted in the spring of the year the child turns six

Applications for early childhood education and preschool education are processed through the eDaisy software system. Please note that the eDaisy application system is available only in Finnish.
