At the midpoint of Finland
Haapavuori is a great destination for the whole family. Along the guided trails, you will find a a lean-to and a campfire site, with a lookout tower and outdoor toilets. The firewood is provided and the nature trail can be accessed by car. The trail is located in a forested area between the Uljuan reservoir and highway 4. There are two parking areas, one near Nälkämaa and the other near Uljua. Both starting points have information boards. At the Uljua’s end, there is an official swimming spot and a fishing spot. There is also a municipally maintained campfire site near the Uljuan reservoir at Haapavuorentie 50.

Kangasjärvi is located about four kilometers from Kestilä on Temmestie road, heading towards Oulu. The area has a beach volleyball court, a grill hut and changing rooms. In winter, the lake serves as place for ice swimming. To swim, a 20€ fee must be paid, (which includes a 10€ usage fee and a 10€ key deposit.) The key can be obtained from the Kestilä library.

The area has a beach volleyball court and a tennis court. In winter, the outdoor pool serves an ice swimming spot, and you can swim by paying a 20€ usage/deposit fee for the changing room key. You will get back 10€, when you return the key after the ice swimming season ends. The key can be obtained from the leisure office at Sandelsintie 12. In winter, you can also enjoy sledding.

The Kortteinen lean-to is located by the Kortteinen reservoir in Piippola. There is also a boat launch site nearby. The lean-to is easily accessible, even for families with children. The exact coordinates are 64° 10′ 28.4″ N, 26° 06′ 16.2″ E.
The map guides you to Iisalmentie, where you turn left from the Pyhäntä direction and right from Piippola. The spotis located at the exact coordinates.

Kurun lintujärvi (bird lake) in Rantsila is an easily accessible destination, even for families with children. The Kurunneva area has several campfire sites along the trails and at the starting points. The area is also a popular birdwatching spot, with two birdwatching towers. The map indicates the Kurunneva parking area, where you can start your trip to Kurunneva.

This lean-to and campfire site is located along the ski trail and beautiful outdoor paths. The site can be accessed by car and firewood is available. In winter, there are ski trails and a sledding hill. In summer, there is a frisbee golf course in the area and extensive walking trails.

The key can be obtained from the leisure office. The area also has wonderful and varied forest paths for walking, running or cycling. The site can be accessed by car.
